European strategy for data (11/02/22 22:52:28) Reply
In a very condensed summary, the hyper scalers(Google/Microsoft/Amazon) are sucking the E.U. dry of data. In their attempt to fight back with GDPR and so on [“To that regard, it already started in 2014 with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and others such as the regulation on the free flow of non-personal data (FFD), the Cybersecurity Act (CSA), and the Open Data Directive. And it is also pushed for sector-specific rules regarding data, for example, the PSD2 in finance.”]

As part of those policies/projects they developed a data mapping tool: https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/policies/european-data-flow-monitoring
The data is interesting, and the forecast ability has interesting analysis points. e.g., In Sweden, the education sector is full-on buying computing services over the internet.

I had no idea that the U.K. is exporting so much data off the country is mind-boggling compared to other countries.
